Medieval Glossary
Angon
An average-size spear used by Frankish warriors for throwing and sometimes in hand-to-hand combat. It was mostly covered in iron and had little exposed wood. The top had points turned back like a hook, making it hard to draw out of a body once it had been stabbed inside.
