Carolingian
Of or relating to the dynasty of rulers of whom Charlemagne was the most famous. The dynasty began with Frankish rulers of the eighth century (such as Charles Martel, Peppin the Short, and Charlemagne), and it lasted in the successor states of Germany and France into the tenth century.
