The watchman, who was a valiant man,
brave, courteous and clever,
began to sing a song
that was beautiful and pleasing:
"Young noble-hearted lady,
you have an elegant, seductive body,
blond charming hair,
bright eyes and a laughing face.
I can see well
that you just finished talking with your friend
who dies from love of you.
Listen carefully to my proposal:
be wary of traitors
who look for you here,
drawn swords underneath capes;
they spill out against you in violent threats,
